How do y'all feel about canned soup?

It's not nearly as good -- or healthy -- as homemade soups, but I grabbed a few different cans of canned soups while I was at the grocery store.

I like having it for lunch sometimes. Cheap, filling, warms ya up, fast and easy...and even though there is sodium to worry about, it's not the most caloric or fat-laden thing one can eat for lunch.

There are certain ones that I like. Progresso Minestrone is good, and so is their New England Clam Chowder.
I still like Campbell's tomato soup made with milk.

I always keep a couple of cans of soup in the house. Sometimes that's just what I want, and sometimes I'll have it with a grilled cheese or other sandwich.

I usually only eat canned soup when I'm sick or not feeling well. And then usually only tomato and chicken noodle soup, both with lots and lots and lots of crackers. There are probably other soups I'd like as well, but those two are my go to soups. I've never made a homemade soup.

I always have few canned soups in my pantry. But they are homemade. By me.

some of the Progresso lite soups are surprisingly good. A few cans of the various chicken varieties are staples in our pantry.

I have some also. Usually Progresso or Amy's and I do doctor them up. Some are better than others.

I like canned soup. In fact I just viewed the Warhol exhibit at the Whitney and now I'm inspired to try some old Campbell's varieties that I haven't seen in years.

My research shows that Campbell's Scotch Broth is still available in Canada, which is a good excuse for a road trip...

Progresso only.

Then I also buy chicken and vegetable broths, usually Pacific brand.

Spoiled brat will eat any soup, anyway. He would probably think soup from the near by soup kitchen was good. So I do keep a few cans on hand. Progresso is the one we usually get or Aldi's brand. I am not a huge soup eater except for home made cream type soups. We had split pea last night. I do keep a 1/2 dozen canned creamed soups in the pantry for cooking with when I don't feel like making a cream sauce from scratch. OK, filled with sodium but once every month or so isn't going to kill any of us I don't think. We also have a lot of frozen soups in the freezer, all home made if course
