I've always eaten my salads with black olives, green olives being way too strong tasting. What happened, all of a sudden? Now I eat every salad with sliced green olives, with shredded Parmesan Cheese and Italian Dressing.

So what other pleasurable "Tastes" I've been missing out on all these years?

there are several things; some I don't eat often and some I may not love, but I enjoy:
Escargot
okra
fruit in my green salad
pizza

I started eating kalamati olives a few years ago. Had never heard of them before that. I never liked green olives but would eat black olives. I LOVE kalamati ones!

I also recently started enjoying mackerel and oysters, both of which I had never tried before.

Mackarel... From the can?
I've always liked the canned "Mackarel in Brine." It, along with most sardines, is among the healthiest forms of protein you can get for the price.
The only problem is that, like sardines, it smells terrible.

Yes, from the can. Gotta agree with you there, it does smell awful lol. But very nutritious!

For a change from fried okra, try it on the grill. Just brush with a bit of oil / salt and grill whole.

Yes, now I enjoy the green olives more than the black ones. Before I knew the ones without the pimento that I didn’t like I didn’t know about the non-stuffed ones. My adventurous foodie daughter had me try one of hers. More tasty imho.

Also, I now like nutmilk in my transition to non dairy. Before nutmilk, I was drinking soy but enjoy nutmilk more. Also, the chocolate version is tasty. And, chocolate coconut milk is good, too.

I like Krinos brand kalamati olives. I can’t get them here, and after seven years, I still miss them.

I visit an olive bar whenever I plan for guests. I love putting olives out before a meal, with cheese and nuts.
