Ok this may seem like an odd request but the tail of the turkey or as we call it on thanksgiving the popes nose is one of my husbands favorite parts. We have searched high and low for places that sell it. We can't seem to get them. Although one place my husband called said he needed to by 40 lbs.! We don't need that much. I mean we can get tounge, liver, beef heart, chicken livers etc... online but not this. Do you think it would be more available around November? any help is appreciated. I will also check out my local butchers.
I suspect that the reason they are so good, si that they are at the bottom of the pan and are basted with roasting turkey juice for a couple of hours. They wouldn't be so wonderful if you just dropped them into a frying pan long enough to cook them through.
