the percentage of truly unadventurous eaters only rises very high in the 80+, Applebee's crowd.
It will be interesting to see what restaurants geared toward the elderly will look like in 30, 40 years (I mean, assuming best case scenario and restaurants still exist then). Will it be like Old Country Buffet but all ethnic foods? Alternatively, it could be versions of the "fun but greasy " American gastropub food that's popular now: loaded tator tots and such.
Or will it be soylent green buffets? Soft serve station, salad bar, burger bar, but all comprised of some kind of processed all-nutrients-in-one product in different forms.

My parents are in their 80s and their favorite place to eat out is a Chinese buffet. Here at work in my group the ages vary from 24 to 66. When we have gone out as a group to eat it's been Vietnamese, Thai, Irish, and American at a hotel. The biggest variable is time getting their and back walking more than the food. Everyone is very flexible about the food.
