The nearest Trader Joe's is 35 miles from me. People used to beg them to open a store in a nearby town. Lidl opened one of their first stores in that nearby town. Now no one cares about Trader Joe's.

Lidl ran into problems and had to slow their expansion, but occasionally check their US website to see where they've gotten to.

We heard we were getting both an Aldi’s and a LIDL at the same time. The Aldi’s will open in a few weeks, but no sign of the LIDL. We drive 2 hours to get to TJ so we don’t go very often.

Lidl had unrealistic expectations. Plus, the initial manager of Lidl US made some phenomenal unforced errors. They almost pulled out. They've dialed back the roll out. They'll get there. In the mean time, enjoy your Aldi.

The closest we have is also about 2 hours away, in OK and they do not sell wine, so we pretty much depend on friends going to somewhere near a Trader joes for our fix. I will add, since we have such a nice Aldi's and love our Fresh Market Trader Joes isn't as much a priority as it used to be. Ar is getting a Trader Joes but it is in Little Rock which is a 4 hour drive.
