so butterfingers are probably my favorite candy. so much so that i never keep any in the house because i will eat the whole bang at one time. i did notice them in a paler yellow bag in the dollar store but didnt give it much notice. my wife put together some of my favorite candies for fathers day and included a bag of butterfingers (and mentioned that they are hard to find).
i took one bite and immediately felt something was wrong. it tasted bad. i thought maybe it was an old stale butterfinger. i kept eating and noticed it wasnt bad, the flavor was impacted since i had just finished dinner. the subsequent butterfingers still tasted good and had a pretty similar texture but it wasnt as good as the old ones. the flavor is more consistent with actual peanut butter and more delicate.
i still ate the whole bag in 2 sittings so its still good but i feel i have been wronged. im surprised that the changed the recipe rather than making some spin off product that would eventually be discontinued.
