Imagine my disgust when I take a big honkin' bite out of my BLT, only to discover COLD BACON (the "pre-cooked" kind that comes in a package) covered in SLIMY COLD CONGEALED FAT.
I tried to complain (first to the store, then to corporate) but they were like, "sorry man, all of our sandwiches are cold". Corporate did add, "sorry we grossed you out!"

Cold bacon isn't bad if effort is made to remove that congealed fat.
Glad someone mentioned. Like many of you I won't give Jimmy Johns my money. Sandwiches are lousy and overpriced.
It's one of those "how do they stay in business?" places for me.
But Jersey Mike's? #13 and Doritos.
I don't actually have a problem in the world with their food. I like the texture of their bread, their cold cuts, and I like the avocado spread they make, as well as their giardiniera. I just think the owner is a dick.
It's too bad, because it's a Midwestern - originating business, and I will always prefer to prioritize those.
Jersey Mike's ONLY for me, because Jimmy John's DOES NOT have any gluten free options at all (diagnosed celiac for over 10 years). Jersey Mike's is great with fresh ingredients and reasonable prices if I have to get fast food which is rarely.

JJ does offer the "Unwich" option using lettuce wrap instead of bread.
Every single sandwich chain fails the bread category. Something about the chain model means their bread will be sub-par at best. It is always spongey pablum. I have had Jersey Mike's, and the ingredients weren't bad, but the bread was disappointing if not abjectly terrible like Subway and Quiznos. I have yet to try Jimmy John's or Firehouse.
The delis I grew up with sourced their bread locally and was the same that could be found right at the bakery or at the local grocery. Freshly baked, high quality and representing the bakeries' family tradition. The chains simply can not provide that. At best they can bake frozen dough.
