Ah, but consider the banana -- Nature's own fast food, as are a lot of fruits and vegetables.

If I have to have a quick hamburger, I will go to Wendy's or Sonic. McDonald's is last on my list. They hire the lowest of the low, saw one employee through the window at one of the new franchises here, looked to me like a gang member, with tatoos and hoodie included. Ugh ugh...

What cracks me up about fast food joints -- Arby's and Taco Bell in particular -- is that the help always seems surprised and put out when there's a crowd at the counter at lunch time.

Some of the fast food joints in my area have been known to hire people on "work release" (prisoners). They're not allowed to handle money, so they are always in the back cooking. But yeah, some of the "kids" nowadays look just as bad.

When I worked at Subway, the lunch rush was the ONLY time he'd have two people working at once. Funny thing is, the opener would work like 9 to 2 (unless I opened, then I'd give him a "free" hour), and the other person would work from 11 to 10 p.m. (except Friday and Saturday nights, when we were open to midnight).

But even that was only Monday through Friday. I got to be real fast, real quick...I once made 83 sandwiches in an hour...by myself...including ringing up all the orders! With someone else, however, we did 117 sandwiches in an hour...our record for the store.

Hmmm....don't think I've had a hamburger or fast food since I was 13....I learned at that age how unhealthy it was....now I'm in my 30's...

Are you sure? I seem to remember driving past a Carl's Jr every so often, and I live in Arizona. I also remember them in Oklahoma.
