Angus beef burger with cheese, tomato & sweet onion, Breakstone's cottage cheese with a peach sauce, sweet potato fries and onion rings. Sips from my sweet ice tea bottle. Saved a couple sweet potato fries that I mix with a bit of BB dry for dogs.

Talking Thank you, ALM! What a LOVELY POST!

DEAR ALM

You are probably one of my very FAVOURITE posters here! You seem to have such a BIG HEART,

your kindness comes shining through!!

When I read posts like this one, it reminds me of Christmas with my Grandmother, with my Mother, etc. Your HOME reminds me of HOME with my loved ones!

My mother would start baking months in advance, and yes she always made the ILLUSTIOUS FRUIT CAKE, she had to keep "feeding it" And tons of different cookies, desserts, pies, cakes, etc. It was for all of us to enjoy through the Holiday Season, as well as to be able to give to others. To share with people when they dropped by. To send as gifts in the mail, etc.

We also always have some form of Fish on Christmas Eve, and then it is either Turkey and some other
form of meat on Christmas Day. We are so busy spending time with one another, that many times we would not even open any gifts until the Feast of Saint Stevens or Boxing Day on the 26th. And that was OK.

Anyway, I love reading all of your posts, they are so comforting, homey, etc. Your family is Blessed to have you!

A HAPPY CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY SEASON TO YOU & YOUR LOVED ONES!!

FROM OUR HOME TO YOURS!!((((((HUGS))))))Thank you for everything!!

And May 2021 be a real BLESSING to you, your loved ones & everyone reading this!!

Tomorrow night I will make steamed rainbow trout with boiled potatoes, melted butter and whipped horseradish. For the rest of the evening my baked Christmas cookies,Glühwein or some red or white wine from the Pelee Islands.
On Christmas Day I am making Cornish game hens stuffed with onion, orange, curly parsley and massaged with salt/black pepper.Roasting gently in the oven in a red wine bath.Served with cranberry chutney, garlic mashed potatoes with a bit of sour creme. To drink an IPA.Both days we have a Kaffeeklatsch with Marzipan Stollen and Baumkucken, whipping cream and black coffee.
When I come back in this dinner forum I will roll like a barrel, but you see there is no dieting in my home between Christmas and Sylvester/New Years Day!

It has been a very tough year for all of us and we all were daily tested by this unwanted guest visiting around the globe. It made us test our patience and faith.
I wish you all from my heart a very peaceful holiday and may you find beauty and warmth wherever you look.
Heartfelt greetings from my home to yours!

HAPPY 4th DAY of CHRISTMAS to everyone reading this!!

And many good wishes for the NEW YEAR!!HAPPY 2021!!!CHEERS!

Thank you countrylv22

I hope everyone had a few relaxing days.We did have a snowy Christmas and so we took our cross country skies and spend a few hours outside in the countryside.Of course it will be a very quiet Sylvester/New Years Eve,probably just playing board games and watch a Bollywood movie and ring in the new year with a glass of Champagne,Boursin cheese with smoked salmon on little party size Pumpernickel bread.

For tonight I took an unnamed container out of the freezer and it will be a surprise soup.I must have forgotten to label it. For dessert 1/2 a pink grapefruit.
