Evening meal and movie with a girlfriend tonight. She made a guacamole with absolutely perfect avocados. Said she got them at Walmart. They were the best I've ever eaten in MN.

She had a very light, crispy tortilla chip to serve with them, a mix of cubed feta and Greek olives and delicious little almonds covered in coffee flavored truffle with a hard chocolate coating and powdered sugar.

I brought a cheesy warm artichoke spinach dip with cut up fresh pita, carrot sticks, Dutch dark chocolate with pears and almonds and white chocolate strawberry truffles.

We watched the Lady Gaga version of "A Star is Born" and had a sentimental sniffle or two. A real girls' night out.

Happy birthday and please spoil him!

SO is on a second play date this weekend:>( Fridge surprise - a big green salad with Romaine for crunch and a tiny head of Red for pretty, leftover spaghetti with mushrooms, green peas, home smoked ham, some heat and olive oil. Tiny tangerines and spiced cashews for desert.

Ham, turkey, and salami on dark rye (plus lettuce, onion, horseradish mustard, and mayo).

Potato chips and carrot sticks.

M will probably get leftover mashed potato “pills” and the bit of pork tenderloin and a couple roasted Brussels sprouts.

Happy Birthday to the spoiled brat & enjoy your evening.

We are having a simple meal, stir fry kielbasa, onion & cabbage with rice.
