He loved it. I knew he would. Crispy real bacon, loaded, on a maple sugar glazed apple fritter...he was in the hospital for some rehabilitation awhile back, and was complaining about the food...I sent him a care package of cooked bacon, they sell it in a package like beef jerky, he loved it, and shared it with the other "inmates", it was major contraband...they put it on their eggs each morning, he said he had more friends....
But, aside from these two random events, I don't cook or buy unhealthy food. Twice in three years, I bought him bacon...hardly going to kill him.
what a good woman you are-giving him bacon,,i'd have liked that too....
speaking of "unhealthy"
I asked my dr about eating meat-he said lean is preferrable,,,but lay off the salt, the salt will hurt you much more than the meat itself
he said my stats are good,,,so no need to be overly concerned at this point,,, whatever you are doing,,keep doing it..
So I have been to three Chinese restaurants in my area & always order the same dish. Crisy duck with rice. Now what pisses me off is that everytime I have gone there, its with someone else who also wants a rice dish and I always have to share with them.
They NEVER serve separate rice dishes but lump them & heap them into a two for one if there are two people or three for one if there are three people. This is kinda awkward as I have to ""ration"' myself while I share with other people.
Today I went there with my SO & when they brought a 2 for 1 I wanted to send it back only he reprimanded me for being too picky.
do you guys not think I deserve my own plate of rice?/ I hate sharing
^^^ Exactly! Seems to be the first thing I would do, if I were so unsatisfied...
Or just order a double portion of rice, if you think you don't get enough of it.
I have never been to a Chinese Restaurant that didn't give each person their own bowl of rice, OR with a "family-style" bowl with enough in it to feed everyone at the table, and usually with a free refill.

I don't like "family-style" bowls if I am dining with someone other than family. I don't enjoy dipping into a common bowl for rice, salsa or anything else when I am dining with coworkers, for example.
I want my own bowl of rice, even if I have to pay extra for it.
Oh, yeah... I experienced it, and it was not in a mom&pop style restaurants. More common in Europe than here, though - but I also experienced it in the States - even in my own town here.
They usually bring a good size of rice in a covered dish (rice is cheap!) with a spoon. You should use that spoon to place some rice on your plate, and return the spoon back to the dish. There is nothing unsanitary by doing that. However, if all rice is gone, and people still have food on their plates, you could ask the waiter to bring some more rice...
