Here, my second choice is a Food Lion. It’s a very nice store with good meat that is less costly than Publix. Just this week, a BILO has reverted back to a Piggly Wiggly. Although it is the closest store, historically it falls short in selection and quality. I’m hoping it has improved. First world problems, really.

Default The silent breakfast

Hm. Interesting. For me, I usually am listening to the radio in the morning.

Shh. It’s Breakfast Time.
When I first encountered silent breakfast, in 2019, it was easier for many of us to avoid ourselves by running through our own lives. In 2020, with nowhere to go and much less to do, I refocused on silent breakfasts. I made a date with myself every morning and guarded my time against the inevitable digital intrusions.

Hubby knows not to talk to me, until I have had my coffee & small breakfast.

I just stumbled on this and am saddened. Both nmnita and her spouse have passed?

I loved the way she called him "spoiled brat".

I am stunned. RIP

Has anyone else noticed the people who used to make nasty comments about undercooked eggs and guacamole have been escorted out of here or disappeared? I haven't seen the "Eww, disgusting" crowd in a while.

I used to get disciplined, Gerania, if I made rude remarks about food. After my parents went through the Depression their attitude was "just be grateful that you have something to eat."

I was saddened too to hear of the loss of nmnita. She was a good moderator of the food board.

I do have a recipe for ramen cabbage salad if you want me to post it, Threestep2. There are a number of them online. They vary but not by much.

I came here to ask for help. Didn't we have a thread about Jiffy corn meal muffins not making as many as they used to? I looked but I couldn't find it.

I think you can find “Oriental Salad” recipes online. You basically use the spice packet in the dressing, and you break up the raw ramen noodles into the shredded cabbage. It’s really good.

Help me please. Do threads just disappear like that or am I mistaken?

Never noticed this before.
