Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and all that stuff to everyone! You've all made me feel so welcome here, and shared with me so many wonderful things, I can't thank you all enough - I don't have the words.

May the season bring all of you the same happiness and joy you've given me!

Default Opened a can of soup today

Recently bought Progresso's Chicken and Dumplings soup. The label said it tastes like homemade. Yeah, right, I thought, but it did! I've never bought it before in any brand and expected it to be all right, but it was still canned soup. It was a nice surprise and I'll buy it again. I'm so glad I tried it.

Thanks I'll have to get some, sounds good for a cold winter day. I am surprised though as almost all canned soup has a funky taste to them. But I'll give it a try,

Progresso is the only canned soup I buy. You just can't go back to Campbell's salt water after that. (And I like that you don't need a can opener for their products.)

Default I hate doing the dishes

I had a bunch of people over yesterday for the Patriots game and dinner at halftime. I made Gordon's Pot Roast ( link: Gordon's Pot Roast recipe | Epicurious.com ) in a Le Creuset on the stovetop. Like usual, I completely nuked the stovetop as the overfilled Le Creuset boiled over and spewed pot roast sauce all over the place. I dealt with the stovetop disaster before the game and during commercials in the first quarter including chipping the carbon deposit off the electric igniter for the burner I was using and scouring the carbon off the grate. The soup bowls and big strainer for egg noodles went in the dishwasher but my kitchen sink is filled with a big stainless pot that was used to boil the egg noodles, a trashed Le Creuset inside that, and several white plastic cutting boards. I also have some Riedel burgundy glasses and other hand wash items to deal with. I'm sitting here on the sofa procrastinating. Terminator 2 is on the flat screen. I'm surfing the internet drinking a cup of coffee. The cat wants attention.

This is the morning after for any dinner party I hold and this one isn't too bad since it was a 1 pot meal. I need a "dinner party cleanup fairy" who comes in while I'm sleeping and deals with the debris field in the kitchen. Aaahnold is about to blow away the evil T-1000. More procrastination.
