I've tried it at the request of my 15 and 21 yo. They like those Mochi ice cream ball things but it's a no for me. I found the texture off-putting,kind of spongy and squishy like. It just had a weird mouth feel to me. I found them kind of "blah" too.

I first had mochi in Japan years ago as a teenager and didn't like it then; I still can't understand the appeal. It has no taste and a weird, rubbery texture. If I'm going to use an edible holder for my ice cream, I'll take a waffle cone.

That's my favorite part. LOL!

Not the mochi.......the stuff they sprinkle on it....to avoid sticking...the white flakes that come off that tease you into think it's powdered sugar....& to help you handle it, like when they are sold individually & not in the box..........it's kinda waxy & doesn't taste like anything........

I love mochi ice cream. Strawberry is my favorite. They're more expensive, so I only buy them on sale at Costco (which is hardly ever) or when I haven't bought them in awhile.
