Chicken and Stars soup with lots of crackers...and cherry jello! ...When I was a kid I got 7-Up for an upset stomach, but otherwise no soda ever.

Mmmm, good! Heck, I like this for lunch (with a PB sandwich or whatever) on a cold winter day even when I feel fine.
My grandmother used to give me Campbell’s Chicken Soup when I had a cold. I think that it was still made in Camden, New Jersey, at the time.

Diet Pepsi with lime. When I'm nearly back to normal, add rum!

I normally don't eat any of these things. I'm going to the store later and can't decide what to get. I don't like frozen pizza so if I had to get pizza, I'd go to a pizza place but I'd rather cook. I might make more rice porridge but I'm getting tired of soupy things. Looking to get some ideas!
My own chicken and rice soup.

When I was finally, finally on the mend from diverticulosis, I suddenly decided I wanted a Reuben. I absolutely craved a Reuben sandwich. I forget how I got the ingredients, but I made myself one with plenty of pastrami and saurkraut. After not really wanting amy food for days, I absolutely scarfed it down. And felt so much better almost immediately.

I think I needed salt. I remember thinking, “Oh this so salty, yum” as I ate it.

But usually, I just want soup or a piece of fruit.

Soups, hot drinks, saltine crackers, and Cheetos. The latter two are not really on my "can eat" lists anymore, but when you're sick, you're sick. Then as soon as I feel better, a nice steak goes down well.

If I have a stomach flu the only thing I can tolerate is flat Pepsi. Otherwise, I used to love canned soups when I had a bad cold or was sick in other ways, but I can't eat those anymore due to the high sodium content. Now I keep fat-free, low-sodium broths in the cupboard just in case, but they'll never take the place of Cream of Chicken or Green Pea soup.
