I have a bag of bread that expires tomorrow. Is it too late to do the freezer trick?

If it's not growing anything, go ahead and toss it into the freezer. It will make great toast!

My mother also loves to freeze bread. I ate so many freezer-burn flavored slices as a child, that I have never been a bread freezer myself. I don’t know what she was doing wrong as so many here are happy with the method, or if I have sensitive taste buds.
