I know I am late to the game, but I am really enjoying (and learning) from watching old Jacque Pepin videos, such as the More Fast Food My Way (www.pbs.org/food/shows/jacques-pepin-more-fast-food-my-way). The man is a wizard with a knife and the recipes I have tried are really good. Just passing along for others that may not be aware of him.

If you are on FB, you can follow him too. He does short videos on there and is still a wealth of cooking wisdom.

I had the pleasure of briefly metting him. Lovely man - and my gut said that he really IS that nice, that it wasn't a put on for the public.

Oh you can tell he's a generally nice man. When he's a judge on cooking competitions, he always manages to find the absolute nicest way to critique, instead of just coming out and saying it's just not good like some of the other judges do.

I always enjoyed his shows, he seemed perfectly content to try and teach us something without trying to become a 'personality'.

I love him! The show he had on PBS with his daughter was great too!

He prepares so many dishes beautifully. But what I really enjoy about watching him is the way he will sometimes take a simple everyday meal like maybe a piece of chicken, something green, and some potatoes or rice, and lift that meal up to the level of extraordinary. Without any fanfare or fancy ingredients.

He used to appear with Julia Child. Very skilled chef.

He reminds me of my grandfather, too. I think he's terrific. He's been cooking since age 13 and came up through the French apprenticeship system. Has excellent skills and is a good teacher. I enjoy watching him.
