I also love fig jam. A few faves - on a toast with goat cheese or ricotta and hazlenuts. Or in a sandwich with goat cheese/brie and prosciutto or ham. Also a nice sweetener in a salad dressing with ginger and lemon or lime.
Oh! Goat cheese, yes! I am putting that on this week’s list. Don’t much care for hazelnuts though. I read to use it with balsamic vinegar as a glaze. That might be a bit sweet for my taste unless used with a light hand.

I agree! I like tart flavors, so in a glaze with balsamic I'd throw in some lemon juice. Or make sure to throw in some olives or capers with the final dish. Or preserved lemons!

I bought a new to me ingredient today. Roasted garlic. I think if I have not roasted garlic by now, I’m never going to. So I bought preroasted. Now I have to figure out how to use them.

Interesting, never seen pre-roasted garlic before. I'd use it in mashed potatoes, salad dressing, to make a flavored butter for easy garlic bread. Or use that garlic butter under the skin to roast a chicken. I'd throw it any sauce or soup where I had already planned to use garlic.

Those are my quick hit ideas!

I did some reading up first on what to look for and bought a small amount of medium expense. If it's promising I'll be willing to spend more.

Also water temp matters. It will taste really bitter when the water is too hot!

We used to get an appetizer , that was 3 or 4 heads of roasted garlic & it came with some warm brie & sourdough bread. You can spread the garlic directly onto the bread. Yum. Squeezing the garlic out is fun too.

All sound good. I might try using them in salad dressing.

For the 1st time, tried leeks using this recipe: https://food52.com/recipes/20374-gar...s-in-olive-oil

It tasted between not too bad to pretty good. I'd buy leeks again maybe 1 more time or maybe not. It's not one of those veggies you really want unless maybe you had a special recipe for it. It's a little time consuming to clean them. There are quicker-prepping veggies out there.
