I doubt that has anything to do with it.. The problems with lettuce started about 5 or so years ago: just like so many other issues; testing has helped to identify problems. This is both good and bad. Who is hired has nothing to do with this!!!!

Thanks eureka: I think our problems lie as much with the media as with anything else. Yes, we all know aout the ecoli breakouts from romaine, especially from CA but the % of those getting sick are almost not even 1% or 1/2% I am guessing.
