It is a full bodied German lager, a common base for pumpkin-enhanced beers. I am not much on pumpkin beers but friends who are fans cite Pumpking from Southern Tier and Good Gord from Cigar City as good examples. For a marzen that is easy to find in the U.S., I like Paulaner.

Really great info, WW, thank you! I've got a new list...
For me, drinking lots of water. I'm in the mountains for another few days & am used to sea level... the drier air & higher elevation always makes me feel woosy & dehydrated. I cannot get enough water. In fact, 2 days in a row, I woke up thirsty due to dreaming I was thirsty. Now that's parched.
