I can't recall if I've tried the sparkling cider by welch's or not. I thought that they've had that out for a while and we tried it a couple years ago, but maybe that was something else by a different brand.
I am a Martinelli's fan. For special occasions in our household we drink that instead of wine or champagne. I can usually find a good deal on it around the holidays and I stock up for the rest of the year.
Please do let us know what you think of the welch's.

The Welch's Sparkling Cider was just introduced this fall. Apparently they are trying to directly compete with Martinelli's. The only other major brand of sparkling cider before Welch's came out with theirs that I know about is R.W. Knudsen, which I don't see as much as I used to.
Interestingly Martinelli's has a Blush Cider, which is Apple Raspberry flavored.
Sparkling Apple Cider or simply apple flavored soda is a big thing in Latin America and in Asia. It's never taken off in America.
It seems Americans only drink colas and lemon sodas. Where as in Latin and Asia there are so many different flavored sodas. I don't think Americans would ever drink Apple or Melon flavor sodas while it is such a big thing in Asia.

Martinelli's is somewhat popular in the western United States, particularly during the holidays. As stated, Welch's is trying to compete. So far I have only seen the Cider at Target, replacing the Mimosa.
I've been drinking Martinelli's for 40 years. I'm surprised it has taken this long for another major brand to make a competing product.
