Which is probably why a small cup of it is my daily fare. And, why, if I may ask, do I get a message of "you cannot give .....to the same person twice" when I have never given anything to the person before? Dare I ask. It seems to be my steady response lately. But that is another topic. So, thank you VT Snowbird.
Life is short, drink good coffee. Look for 100% Arabica at the bare minimum.
Is it my imagination that the last of the coffee in a canister is not as good as the rest was? Seems to me it just doesn't taste right, to say nothing of it not setting on the digestive system right. Am I imagining things?
I don't know in what packaging full-service restaurants typically receive their coffee, but every once in awhile, I get a cup where it is some of the purest black coffee that I can even enjoy without cream or sugar. Better and less undesirable aftertaste than any K-cup or reputed franchise coffee (Starbucks, Dunkin', etc.)
My goto coffee is Chock-full-o-nuts. I have two coffee grinders, but generally just get it in the metal cans. I decant off a portion into an old creamer container and leave the rest of the can untouched until it needs to be refilled. It isn't as fresh as when first opened, but it does limit the staleness.
I'll admit to not being a coffee snob, I just happen to like the taste of CFoN, sometimes with a couple cardamom pods added in the brew basket.
It’s just a lot of work to grind each morning, I did that for a year or so and then finally went back to buying ground coffee since it saves time and there’s more ground coffee available then whole bean.

This idea (bolded above) struck me immediately as something I need to try! I love cardamom and always have pods around. I assume you lightly crush them first?

I'm trying this tomorrow!!
Yep. I open them up completely, and two or three pods per 14 oz cup seems a good mix, not overpowering, but there. Fresh green pods are especially good. I knew nothing about this until a business trip to Puerto Rico, and a restaurant where coffee was served that way.
