I really miss the old all metal coffee cans, the ones with a reusable metal lid. Those were great. The ones with the plastic lids, well the plastic lids dont hold up. Ok for stuff like nails, but not for food. The modern pasteboard cans are even less usable and if anything the plastic lids even less durable. Sometimes dont even last as long as the coffee does.
Buy your own coffee beans and grind them is the best way to have fresh coffee. Because of work at home, I'm enjoying making my own coffee at home. Saves me so much money.
My best advice is to buy small batches and always air tight seal them. Once a foil package coffee is opened the oils start to dry up and best to use up the coffee beans quickly.
Coffee beans are like beer, they don't last forever.
