Couple slices of pepperoni pizza and a few sips from my bottle of Coca Cola.

Chef Daughter just stopped by with two servings each of pork pozole and stuffed cabbage rolls. There are the weekend meals. Gotta love that girl!

Don't have to bake. Over Christmas someone who buys those fruitcakes in the tins for Christmas gifts asked DH if he wanted one. He never says, "No" to anything free. Except that neither of us eat that kind of fruit cake.

So I put it in the freezer. Today I took it out and told him when it was gone I'd bake again. I'm laughing but it seems like a mean mommy sort of thing to do.

You bring home free fruitcake, Dude, you eat it. Somewhere somebody's starving.

Mom's sandwiches, a sandwich I came up with when DD was a tween. She'll be 43 in about 14 hours from now. This version was pastrami, corned beef, munster cheese, tomatoes, sour pickles, 1000 island dressing. They were good, but something was missing and Dogboa and i can't figure out what it is. I thought it had 3 meats, he thought just 2, but we do agree something was missing. I'm thinking ham. Oh, it's on homemade rustic bread and dipped in egg wash, then fried in an oil/butter mix.

Homemade lentil-vegetable-bean soup. Vegetarian but very satisfying.

Old dry chicken breast, white rice and a chopped kale salad. A glass of a very nice pinot noir. Super boring meal so I ate two pecan caramel turtles and a bowl of black cherry ice cream afterwards.
