I tried to replicate the stacked pancakes described so delectably by Almanzo Wilder in the classic Farmer Boy. I finally ordered some maple sugar from amazon.

That was stacked pancakes. Almanzo liked them better than any other kind of pancakes.

Six enthusiastic thumbs up. I will never use syrup again.

Stayed wet and chilly yesterday, so ditched the Greek salad idea and made shakshuka! and some crusty bread for dinner.

Tonight is pork chops and roasted brussels sprouts, fruit for dessert.
