Chicken simmered in chardonnay with sweet onions and mushrooms, garlic/hot peppers and finished with cream. Basmati, rabbit food.

It is snowing gangbusters outside today. Figure we'll end up with 6 maybe 8 inches total snow from this storm. So I'm thinking homemade chili and cornbread sounds just about right.

Number 2 son, (used to cook professionally) dropped off some rare beef tenderloin, roasted potatoes, asparagus, portobello mushrooms, and a crab cake. All delicious and all made by him.

He also made up a platter of assorted cheeses, olives, figs, peppadew peppers, mandarin orange segments. I worked my way through half of that before I realized there was enough there for yet another nosh!

Number 4 son dropped off pork and sauerkraut, corn casserole and lemon squares.

Since Christmas, I have had Filet mignon, Prime Rib, Ham, Turkey, all accompanied by the appropriate sides. And all provided for me by the cooks in the family.

No shopping, no schlepping, no prepping, no cooking except for a brief warming in the nuker.

Life is good here at Chez Gyp.

Lamb chops in the sous vide, roasted new potatoes and whatever green veggies I can scrounge since we haven't been to the store to replenish in awhile.

I'm thinking cheeseburgers tonight. Craving them. Probably with some home fries & blistered shisitos.
