Wife is fixing what she calls a deconstructed cabbage roll casserole. She browned ground beef and mixed it with cabbage and seasonings before putting it in the oven stirring occasionally. She’s already made smothered cabbage with cut up pork pieces. In another small pot is black-eyed peas. Served with dinner rolls.
Locally the tradition is cabbage is for money and black-eyed peas are for luck. I’m in southwest Louisiana.

Same here. That cabbage casserole sounds wonderful! I might try that with part ground beef and part ground pork  |
