Dip of rocky road ice cream on a pointed cone at about 5p. Then a turkey sausage, egg and cheese muffin sandwich about 10p.

We are on a business trip and we're in W. Va near Maryland.

Our hotel recommended what looked like a "hole in the wall" dive, but appearances can be deceiving! We shared a one lb. Chesapeake Bay shrimp boil, redolent with Old Bay seasoning. House made parmesan corn bread, crunchy, freshly made Mardi Gras coleslaw with a mixture of red and green cabbage, sweet and spicy peppers, radishes and onions, with a light dressing.

We enjoyed a few cold beers too, and found the locals to be very fun and welcoming.

Yesterday I picked up a couple of ducks to add to the Thanksgiving meal.

Daughter dropped by with cottage pie and Italian wedding soup. I'm making some cole slaw.

I sure appreciate these ready-made meals while prepping for Thanksgiving.

DH wants to eat and go to bed early these days. Sometimes I don't get around to supper until bed time. Then I take it up with me and have a movie and meal in bed. With these new kittens until they learn more self-control about other people's food I've been designing late night meals for myself that they aren't going to pester.

Last night it was a peanut butter sandwich on toast, raw carrots, home-canned pickles and a bowl of cut up fruit. Success. One good sniff of an orange or vinegar and a cat will usually exit stage left. LOL

SO brought pretty pointed sweet peppers home. Fajitas with chicken, grilled cielbasa, onion and peppers.

A variation of a throwback Great Depression comfort food. Instead of just frying round slices of potatoes to substitute for meat we will nuke them and slice. Slices of potato, sweet onion, and American cheese between whole wheat bread should work really well after the cheese melts in the microwave. Fresh garden tomato on the side.

Nothing. I skip a meal or two once in awhile on my MD's advice for weight loss. Last year at this time I weighed in at 265 lbs. Today I'm at 242. Still overweight, but closer to my target of 200 lbs. Yes, I exercise. Its all part of the plan.
