Smoked pork with lemon Parmesan squash gnocchi.

We still have a great selection of neighbors' over-the-top Christmas bars, cookies and candy for dessert.

Today it is a family affair making pierogies filled with an onion, potato, quark ( Schichtkäse) filling, garnished with curly parsley and served with melted butter or dollop of sour creme. In addition a mixed garden salad. To drink a glass of wine. For dessert a Stamperl/shot of Enzian Schnapps for digestion.Rest of the evening playing boardgames and enjoying a glass of Glühwein and leftover Christmas cookies.

Wishing you all a very healthy, safe and happy New Year!

Scalloped potatoes with ham and a couple slices of Julian baguette bread with truffle butter. Very good. I've bought it twice now but darn if I remember from where. Also like how it's already pre-sliced. We put ours in the toaster oven on convection, just til it gets slightly browned. Lemon iced tea. Now, just water.

Dessert: probably not. I was snacking earlier today and maybe ate more than I should have. See snack thread on that.

Hope those reading have a nice weekend and of course, a Happy New Year!
