Brrrr it's single digits outside now and dropping. Tonight's wind chill is expected to be -25 to -30 below 0 with 2 to 4 more inches of snow. So the menu tonight reflects our cold. We are having an Italian soup called Jota Triestina or Beans and Sauerkraut Soup from Trieste. Also freshly baked rye whole grain bread and a green salad, served with merlot wine.
Stay warm and happy weekend all!
Dinner will be a simple garden salad... iceberg lettuce (they had no other decent produce at the store) & tomato with dressing made from Meyer lemon & olive oil with pink H salt. As a rare drinker, it's also an "I need an IPA or 2 or 3 day", too. I may skip the bleedin' salad.
Have a good Sunday, All! Stay safe, those of you in the storm's path.
BBQ chicken with a small local chain's BBQ sauce, mustard based. Mayo-less vege slaw using red and white cabbage, carrots, green bell, pimentos, and deviled eggs. Tried to get fancy and used sour cream, mayo, a tiny bit of dijon, horseradish and bacon. They were okay, but I think I won't do that again, will stick with a simple filling.
Caribbean shrimp and sauce (lime seasoning) over rice, 1/2 leftover tomato sliced in quarters, Iced tea.
Dessert: split a slice of peanut butter and chocolate cake with Mr. C.
