Grilled brats with fresh asparagus, sweet red and yellow peppers. Baked scalloped potatoes. A chilled local craft beer for each of us.
For dessert, pealed peach slices with pitted cherries (the canned ones from Aldi that are not overly sweet, which are actually quite good) marinated in peach schnapps, sprinkled with slivered almonds.
I think the fridge is officially devoid of leftovers now so creative thoughts can go to work again. We have little that goes to waste. The collective tonight was like soup without liquid. Actually it was quite good.
