No, but I would probably be willing to try one if it were prepared 'properly'. I'd probably consider if coated in something and fried or toasted. I don't want any MOVING legs.
I remember as a child, waiting as my dad was picking up some food from a local delicatessen. I was looking at the cans and jars of strange, unusual, and expensive items. Many looked interesting, but two did not - chocolate-covered ants and candied grasshoppers! I was rather horrified in the way that tween girls can be.
This was in the late 1960s so this insect-eating is nothing new.
Quite acceptable in select segments of our culture, which is becoming much more open to eating different things.
(Well, at least I am .)
At the low end I've eaten dried grasshoppers and the only thing I can say is they were like tasteless PAPER.
So now I know I need a JUICY bug ... with some fava beans ... and a nice Chi-anti!
I still remember a kid bringing a "mystery food" to my 2nd or 3rd grade class. Pretty much everyone one tried it (back when you HAD to do what teacher told you). Pretty much everyone, myself included, were grossed out.
The mystery food was french-fried grasshoppers. That was the day that I knew I wouldn't voluntarily eat insects ever again.

Same here. Or rolled up in a sushi roll or something. I just don't want to see/feel the legs.
