I buy the 9 oz bag of tortilla chips and they tend to get stale after I only eat a few. Looking for those lunch sized portions. I know Lays sells those in potato chips, cheetos, doritos etc. But never seen tortilla chips.
The same goes for little pop tins of cheese dip. Again, it seems like the only cheese dip i find is Tostitos, which is 15oz!
I agree with Elina on putting the dips in smaller containers, but I always see plenty of Doritos & Fritos in single serve bags. I think they would count as tortilla chips. Or make a few of your own, using old tortillas. Or go to the taqueria in your town & ask to buy a bag of chips with salsa ( liek they serve at the table
If you put your open bag of chips in the fridge, they won't go stale. I know it sounds crazy but it really works. The type of chip we like comes in a huge bag and there are only 2 of us. I put the open bag in the fridge (with a chip clip) and when we want some, I heat them up in the toaster oven for a few minutes and they are as good as new. Just a thought.

That makes sense, since "stale" in corn chips is mostly the oil in them going rancid. Good idea.

It is a good idea. But in our neck of the woods, staleness is typically caused by humidity. Same thing occurs with crackers, pretzels, certain types of cookies, etc. Using a zip lock bag helps some. We don't have this problem in the winter.
I tend to find most of my individual sized snacks whether they be potato chips, tortilla chips, beef (other) jerky, et cetera up front where the cashiers are located.

I live in Houston and I can't stand how quickly things go stale here. Worst is when we take snacks outside on the back patio in the summer (which we do often). Go inside and make yourself a drink and come back outside and the chips are already stale, LOL.
When we lived in Denver snacks and cereal lasted practically forever.......it was nice.
You can take out few spoons of your favorite dip and put into a smaller container. Keep the rest refrigerated. Much cheaper that way ..
Thanks! Repped you.
Got the Tostitos tortilla chips and funnacho dip.
