Are you talking about eating "Koi?" No. I like sushi, but I don't eat pet fish.

I bought a live (swimming) cat fish,it weighs 4 lbs,and the butcher cut it up in thick chunks,is that the same as Carp??
It is meaty but not particularly tasty, consider it is fresh?
It is not like the farm raised catfish filet I bought from Kroger, these are tender and tasty, and cheaper too

I believe chinese smoked fish is made using carp. I eat that a lot. Its bony though. It has a sweet sauce.

Growing up my mother made a bunch of steamed, or braised fish dishes, some of them I am sure use carp.
