I would unwrap it and prepare as nothing happened. Because I don't think anything really happened.
But that's me. I would be fine.

And I totally agree with the poster above.

Now with the Internet counsel from complete and often, clueless strangers, people doubt their own common sense.
Cook it, it's probably OK.

Cook it !! Don't listen to these 'the sky is falling' group. If the packaging is still intact you're fine.

How warm was your house? Under 40 degrees F, you're fine.

8 hours at 60 degrees? Mmm, I'd toss it.

There was probably plenty of bacteria all over that bird when it was wrapped and frozen, so the wrapper being intact doesn't mean it's clean. Bacteria isn't killed by freezing.

If I did that, here's what I'd do
I'd chuck the bird, and make some stew.

Count me in with those who would use it. I leave frozen meat out overnight all the time, and not even in water, just on the counter. The idea is to thaw it, right? And your turkey is now thawed. So cook it. It's fine.

Cook the dang bird and enjoy it, any harmful bacteria will be killed off by the heat from cooking. Don't let a buncha screaming nervous nellies ruin the day for you. Merry Christmas to you !

Couldn't agree more......I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to serve that bird! Common sense, people!

My Mom used to defrost everything via one method...leave it on the counter til it's not frozen anymore. There were three of us, and we never got sick from it.

What did he do with them? I would hard boil a cracked egg.
