Anyone who makes their own pine needle tea, please tell me how you do that.
I've read so many versions. I just made a cup of ginger peach tea (bag). Earlier I took a piece off of a small pine tree. I washed it and snipped tiny pieces into my cup of ginger peach before pouring in the boiling water. I was underwhelmed.

I remember it from my Grandmother talking about it. During and after WWII it was used as vitamin source during times of rationed and not very nutritional food. "Piece of a pinetree"?. Europeans and Amercians used the early Spring sprouts. If in 2022 crippling trees by clipping their new growth for tea makes sense - not to me.

I think I will wait till after the apocalypse to try it. Plenty of fun teabags to choose from. Don't need something from the yard.

Oh my. What kind of trees are crippled by snipping leaves or needles? Best not bring out the pruning shears!

I think one needs to be careful when making one's own pine needle tea as certain types of pine needles aren't that healthy from what I understand.

Are you a gardener? Taking the fresh growth off conifers in Spring not only reduces branches/tree to old growth but also changes its shape.

First of all, it's not spring, is it?

The little tree I snapped a branch off of is in the middle of a path that will be mowed at the end of this week.

The wind knocks off more limbs than I could ever hope to.
I've got a forester coming to survey for lumber prices.
I've got lots and lots of trees. Snipping off a few pine needles here and there will do no harm. I might even do that for Christmas decor.
I totally agree about good and bad pines for tea. I think the dangerous pines are out west.
I've done lots of research (YouTube included). There are many schools of thought. I was hoping to hear from someone who drinks it.
It's actually good for you.
