I agree, price isn't much different plus more food. Thinking about just doing that. Would not use a delivery service, just send hubby to pick up.

Can you get Meals on Wheels delivered to you in your area?

I used to eat Stouffers frozen meals. They can be nuked or boil in bag. Price is generally low, and they won't kill you.
Okay for convenience and to get you through.

Ah yes, an advertising slogan to be proud of: "Stouffer's lasagna...because it won't kill you!"

The quality and variety of frozen foods and prepared foods from the grocery stores are often quite good. I also like the "salad in a bag" kits from Dole, Taylor Farms, and others. They are often on sale for between $3 and $4 and they taste pretty good and it pretty much dump it in a bowl and stir. One good thing that came out of the pandemic is that many grocery stores deliver straight to your door.

None of us knows the incapacitation level of the OP, so all we can do is guess and offer our best advice. Stouffer's is a great idea, for at least a couple of times a week, temporarily. Stouffer's offers a variety of tasty selections that required zero fuss and no dishes to wash.

A crockpot might be ideal for the OP's situation. Just toss in meat, veggie and potatoes and cook until tender. Not much fuss, except for having to clean the crockpot afterwards. It helps to remove (if possible) and soak the ceramic cooking bowl in water for a few hours prior to washing. Chicken breast, can of cream of chicken soup and a handful of frozen veggies. Cook until tender, 4-5 hours.

Minute Maid makes prepared rice cups for the microwave. We love the ease and the taste. We've tried different varieties and all are delicious and easy, including the rice and cheese cups.

Someone else made an excellent point about the grocery stores. Many deliver now. I hadn't thought of that. Good advice.

Try tovala.com. You quickly put the ingredients together and bake in their toaster oven.

Thanks all. To answer about my condition- I am a near invalid right now. The smallest chores cause me pain and great effort. So was looking for the easiest solution, like these meals that go right into the microwave and toss the tray.

I just started grocery delivery, but I really don't want to eat Stauffer's etc, looking for a little better. I love the salad in the bag and get those. I can't eat much right now, so need quality and nutrition. So, those are my parameters.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
