Right around June and July I start craving all my fav fall recipes - Apple Butter Bread, Pumpkin muffins, turkey and dressing...

Is it just the heat that makes us wish for the crisp cool days of Autumn again? Tonight I am making a chicken and dressing casserole with my Thanksgiving green beans just to handle that craving.

Anyone else?

My family is not a salad, fresh veggie group so we rarely eat typical summer foods.

Summer means salads and grilling to me ( though we grill year round) and going with lighter foods.

In the fall I start craving apple pies and stews and chili....those meals are just too heavy to eat when the temps are high

Heck, its June, but in May it was still cold here and I was still making heavier meals....just this past week it has finally gotten warm and I am pulling out the summer recipes

no in summer i dont feel like making or eating "heavy" foods and soup. but i do have the opposite thing. i want "summer" foods in winter. like fresh garden tomatoes with basil and oil. i miss my father's garden
we are growing our own but they are not ready to eat just yet

I have been craving winter food also. Yesterday I made a big pot of winter squash soup for lunch this week. It's so hearty and delicious. But then again where I live it doesn't feel like summer yet.

I guess you want what you can't have. I don't usually want the winter stuff. I want all of that summer fruit year-round. Oh, wait. Mulled wine. I often want that in the middle of the summer, but then remind myself that summer is prime time for sangria. Sangria always helps.

Pumpkin muffins are good 365 days a year.

I don`t like to cook as much when its hot outside. It heats up the house to much, and its just not as fun for me, so we have been eating alot of sandwiches lately.
Chili...is good though anytime.
