Congrats.
Now, do those little Netspreso things slide out of the top or do they pop out? Do you have to remove the holder from the wall to reload?

Wow...that's a blast from the past! A Corning Percolater. I remember that was all the rage and my GM had one too!!! I can picture it now sitting on the kitchen counter w/coffee in it! My GM was a total coffee lover. If she were alive today I'm sure she would be "into" an espresso machine! Thanks for the memories Chaka!

No, it's in the desperately trying stage at the moment, but since he didn't get it done for the first kid as intended, he's planning it for the next one, if and when said next one decides it wants to be conceived. (our 2nd bedroom has always been called "the kids' room", even though there's only been one kid so far. Wishful thinking I guess.)

You're welcome. My mom still uses her's, although she's not a daily coffee drinker, so to be fair it's only gotten about 50% use. Recently my cousin gave her an espresso type machine (forget the brand) that uses capsules which she can use for tea and hot chocolate too. But honestly, her Corning Percolater is still better.
She also has her vacuum from 1955....

At the top and bottom is a little opening where the capsule fits. It's just wide enough to come out, but when you put all the capsules in there, they don't slide out...does that make sense? Maybe later I'll try to take a better picture.

They have the Cuisinarts at Costco right now for far less than we paid for ours from Crate and Barrel! We've also used a Braun with carafe and liked it quite well.

Makes perfect sense. What do each of those capsules cost, about a dime a piece?

Is it called a Flavia machine?
MY DH's mom still has a bunch of that "old" stuff too that she uses from the 60's and 50's - even her decorations. I'm not "into" vintage stuff, but when I see things that my grandparents had and used it gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

more like 50 cents a piece....but it's not like you have very many in a day.
Mr Chaka won't live without it. He'll turn off the a/c before he turns off his Nespresso....

I will have to ask her the name. It's an amazing machine. She has had to get the belts replaced and whatnot, but it's as good as new. Come to think of it, she is still using a lot of stuff she's had since the 50s. Wasn't Walmart prices, but it's all lasted 50+ years.
