We both work at home and usually eat lunch at home. Today we're caught up on work so invited another couple to go out to lunch--what a treat!

There's a local restaurant that offers world class meatloaf, smothered in gravy and onions and a choice of two sides for $6.50. And it was a big slice of meatloaf. Could have had two slices for $8.95, but one slice was more than enough. With the meatloaf came a choice of two sides from a great list. I had the garlic green beans and the buttered rum sweet potatoes..other choices were mashed taters, Southern pea salad, cole slaw, collards, or fried okra. What a fabulous meal for $6.50. This place will likely survive the hard economic times--great food, well-priced and generous portions. Other more pricey restaurants are already feeling the pinch and are all but deserted.

we're having meatloaf and garlic mashed potatoes for lunch today. Oh and we had chocolate chip cookies and caramel apple cider for dessert.
