I haven't had any Tang since I was a kid, but have since learned it works well for cleaning any discoloration and gunk from the inside of a dishwasher!

And according to Wikipedia, it is possible to find the closest thing to Original Tang in Hispanic groceries. This version of Tang is made in San Jose, California, and contains no artificial sweeteners.

Just a little FYI.....

I work at home, so I have a little fridge in my office area. I keep Tang, and for a change, I pour the Tang directly into a chilled bottle of water. It has Vit C, which is an added benefit. I am gonna drink sweetened iced tea, water or coffee while sitting at my desk, so for me it is a nice departure and since I just add it to my water bottle, I don't have to store it in my tiny fridge as I would other beverages.

This thread reminded me of an article I read some time ago about how much the Chinese liked Tang.

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/01/22/magazine/22food.html

In China, Tang was called "Fruit Treasure." It was considered so special that it was given as a hostess gift and young men brought jars of it to their girl friends. Even empty Tang jars conferred a certain status.

Do you think Tang could be the answer to the U.S./China trade imbalance?

Cleans a dishwasher??? Maybe that explains why I have ulcers now (LOL)...after eating it out of the can when I was a kid with a spoon like candy. LOL

I've never liked Tang or Sunny Delight. They both taste too artificial to me.

Thats funny you mentioned it being TOO STRONG..

I just bought TANG 'ORANGE' the other day (Which said NEW on the bottle) and it was disgusting! (Hardily any flavour) -- Tasted like an ice cube melted in it!! (I poured the whole bottle down the drain)

But thats what I expect today, weak stuff, stuff that doesnt taste good,etc......

I used to love Tang as a child. I'm pretty sure I would not like it now.

Wait.....they still make Tang? I don't think my grocery store carries it.....when my kids were young, I was telling them about it, and so we looked for it a few times, and never were we able to find it there.

Sounds like we did not miss anything.
