Black Forest Cake...YUM!!!!!
When living in Ny, we had an excellent German Bakery that made really good black forest cake.

Lucky Leaf does make the dark cherries in a can....you can check out there web-site to find which stores carry them in your area. My Dad was a big fan of Black Forest cake and I had just found the cherries right before he died in March. I still have his 2 cans in my cabinet.....I never got to give them to him.

Yes I love it, and my husband and kids adore it!!! The version we call Trifle is a very traditional English dessert (or pudding!) and looks so pretty in a big glass bowl. I will be making one very soon!!

I posted one before, but for some reason my pictures keep disappearing from the forum.

Here is the trifle I made not long ago.

Awwwww.....I am so sorry to hear, that you were not able to give those cherries/ torte to your dad !
What a sad story, and it's such a shame.....

I checked and found those cherries you were talking about.
Maybe it's time for me, to bake the black forest torte again.
I have an original recipe for it from Germany....but, from start to finish, it is a VERY time consuming task to make.
But, at the end well worth it....LOL.

As for all desserts....don't even bother asking, just HOW many calories one slice has.....LOL.
