Goetta. (for those that don't know: Goetta - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
Its a Cincy thing and my friends of mine from down there turned me on to it.

When you cook it up, smells gross, but it actually tastes really good.

Fish, oh how I HATE fish, ew.

When I was little, my grandpa would open a can of oysters and we would eat them together, just to annoy my mom, b/c the smell was hideous. Now I cannot be around him when he eats those disgusting things, the smell makes me want to throw up. Yuck-o!!

Liver is disgusting too, oh how gross.

Runny eggs. Blech. The smell and flavor of egg yoke is yucky. Eggs Benedict is my favorite breakfast food. But I have to order them poached hard.

Truffle oil.

For me, it's the smell of mayonnaise, or egg and mayonnaise. My uncle used to bring a salad made of this into work, and I found it repulsive. Same with the "shrimp dip" my mom makes.

Other people really think Indian food stinks.
None of those foods bother me in the least. The only food I can think of which I've found truly offensive was the odor from durian fruit from southeast Asia. If I avoid smelling it though I have to admit it tastes pretty darn good and makes an excellent, very creamy, fruit smoothy.

Oh, yes. Durian! Philippino friend of mine was always eating that whenever we went over to his house. Probably just to watch us turn green at the smell and laugh. I swear that stuff smells like something crawled inside the fruit while it was growing, and died.

I did hold my nose once and tried some. Kinda like a custard. Quite nice but I couldn't get past the memory of the smell and what it reminded me of.

Other food I can't stand to smell is any meat when it's boiled. Especially beef. Roasted or fried or barbequed, with marinades, garlic, etc., okay, but not when it's just boiled or poached. It reeks.

Yeah, very custard like. I spent six weeks in Thailand a few years back and all the locals seemed to get a kick out of the white guy trying to figure out how to eat a durian.
