Other than my chef's knife, believe it or not, my favorite tool is a small wooden spatula with a slanted tip. I use it for almost everything I cook. I think it the way to fits my hand. I've even thought of seeking out a woodworker who could duplicate it for me. I'd be lost without it.

The one I'd be most upset about is my grandmother's cast iron potato masher, and second is my Mom's cast iron skillet. Everything else can be replaced.

My cheese slicer. I use that to slice cheese, spread butter, flip eggs, burgers, shave onion, that thing is really all I need to cook. I am lost without it!

My stainless steel food scraper/chopper. My stepdaughter got it for me a few years ago and it is the handiest little thing since I am forever chopping things
