As I can't stand the bought kind I make my own. I have two recipes, one which takes all day and the other that I can have done by the time the spaghetti has cooked. Here is the quicky.
Olive oil in skillet, saute 2 cloves garlic, brown 1 pkg Italian sausage, dump in one chopped onion when meat is about 3/4 done, let meat finish cooking, add 1 large can chopped tomatoes, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, parsley, basil, oregano, salt and pepper to taste. Let simmer. It has a light taste that doesn't overwhelm the food and can be done by the time the spaghetti is.
I try--I really try--to enjoy the jarred sauces occasionally, but I can no longer bear them. I've spoiled myself. I've been making my own sauces for a few years now and, after a few hundred tries, they're close to perfection for my taste buds. From here on out it's strictly home made or restaurant!
Lately I have been making my own and like it much better than the jarred stuff. The jarred stuff is too sweet to me. I think they put too much sugar in it.
