Not everything is a really good deal. For example, at most stores, hydrogen peroxide is less than a dollar - even the really big bottles. At Dollar Tree, the medium size bottles are a dollar...
Rubbing Alcohol is another rip off.
A 12 oz. bottle of 50% strength costs $1.00.
At WalMart a 16 oz. bottle of 75% strength costs $.79
Dollar stores have gotten bad about rounding things up. Most dollar store canned goods and frozen foods are less than a dollar at the grocery stores too.
I rarely go to the nearest Dollar Tree. I have found nothing good so far. Plus, the store never has more than one cashier working, yet there are 6 registers. The line gets pretty long, so, for someone like me, who buys one or two things, I wouldn't waste my time waiting in line.
I do frequent a Dollar Store near me that I love. Although, a lot of the things are now $1.29. They have an 11oz. box, of delicious ginger snap cookies, that I stock up on every so often. That alone, is a great deal!
For some reason, food at the dollar store never impressed me. I never bought anything...now even one spice...and probably never will. I don't know...something about that whole idea...irks me. Also, I always thought that the outside packages didn't look right or something...like the coloring was off. If that even makes sense. I don't believe 100% of the things to be genuine either. Wow, I can't believe that some of your stores where you live have a freezer section!!!!
Agreed. I have very rarely bought food at the dollar type stores. When I have, it has been in the form of snack food.
Location: I never said I was perfect so no refunds here sorry!

I stop in there every now and again to pick up laundry detergent and a few other misc. items.
Always cautious though, I've found that with coupon savings and such you can get the products you need at your local grocery store for the same cost usually speaking. I try not to go out of my way to shop at more than 1 place unless I absolutely have to...
I've bought candy, chips, and cookies there. Boxed cereal too. Those are usually all I buy as far as food products. I don't shop at Dollar Tree, though. I shop at Family Dollar.
I buy food from dollar stores all the time. Mostly Dollar Tree. That is THE PLACE for frozen garlic bread. I've found that their regularly stocked items, like the garlic bread, chips, cookies, candies... are in no way near expiration. They just seem to be lesser known name brands. I look at it this way, if i'm willing to buy store brands at Wal-mart and elsewhere, I might as well risk a $1 to try the items at the Dollar stores.
