Neither. I now use Golden Balsamic Vinegar on the potatoes, I dice the potatoes while still warm, then sprinkle with the vinegar along with salt and pepper. Diced celery, diced boiled eggs, plenty of red onion, tad bit of mustard, miracle whip and a heaping tablespoon of sour cream is all I use in my potato salad.
Moving on to Waldorf now or Chef's salad???? Radishes ?? Paprika??? Juice??? Watery, runny, potato salad?? Candied pickle in juicy, mayooey mess?? Yukkers!
I don't use pickles unless I'm out of dill weed. I use dill weed, lots of it, in potato salad and a bit of mustard and garlic powder to round out the mayo, onion, and celery.
I say either. I've never had potato salad that was not good.
I'm so sweet I need a dill to keep it under control.
