I never used to....but do now. Living in Mexico City for six months per year, I've learned to cook a lot of authentic dishes from scratch. I learned the hard way...permanent red stains from all the chiles, achiote and red tomatoes on my blouses. Now I also know why so many people here put clear plastic table covers over their decorative/fancy ones!

I use mine also as a big hot pad grabbing pots on the stove and a few times things out of the oven. Depending which apron I have on if I grab out of the oven using it one is a lot thicker than the other one.

I'd really like to find some cute ones that are smock like snap up the front with no sleeves like my one gma wore she wore it when cleaning house too. Then had some just for cooking/baking as well with nice big pockets.

I have a few, but I rarely remember to wear them. They don't tend to fit well at the top for we hourglass types anyway.

My favorites are the cute retro half aprons with a pocket or two, but of course they are totally worthless for protecting clothes.

Yes that is the type now I need to find one that doesn't look like my gma's wore. I've only seen them in those horrible (to me) floral prints. Look at that price for an apron $30???? Thanks for thinking of me though.

Oh my! That brought back great memories of my Vovo. She has been gone over 20 years now and I still miss her. What I wouldn't give to spend some more time with her. I think I will buy it and wear it in memory of her.

As a side note I love The Vermont Country Store. I can always find things I didn't realize I needed. I think, but don't quote me, that is only two and half hours from me. I have never been to the actual store but I have been saying I am going to go for at least three years now.

I would say that if I were worried about a stain upon something I was wearing, yes. But if the article of clothing isn't a concern, that you don't worry about grease burns, and the fact you enjoy getting into what you're making. Do whatever makes you happy.

I also would mention, if for a home meal without is fine, but if you are making something to take immediately elsewhere and do not wish to change, then an apron might be a consideration?
