I have a couple, but I never use them. I always get too hot and feel dorky wearing one.

I always thought aprons were something they used in the "olden days" when they might wear clothes several times before washing them. Now we just toss everything in the wash after wearing it once. Plus we have cool things like Shout wipes and Tide pens. So protecting our clothing is not so crucial anymore. And for something like Thanksgiving, it's not like the cook is wearing a beautiful silk dress that's dry-clean only for the holiday--we pretty much wear sweaters and jeans for Thanksgiving these days, right?

When I do see aprons today, I just think they're a cute gift to give someone, that they'll never use. I think my Grandpop had one that said "Kiss the Cook."

I didn't know people still used them; now I know.

I use a bib apron that I made and I've made them for friends as well and I take my waist apron and tie it backwards around my butt because I always end up with flour and whatever else there when I'm cooking or baking and constantly washing and wiping my hands and I can never find my danged towel when I need it.

yep I wear an apron,, you can buy the cheapies off ebay,,,or buy a 20.00 slicker that will last for years, or, there are cheap plastic disposable ones too-which is great for splatters...
look at a restaurant supply online site for those

I like the red or black ones,,,,,red because, having been a butcher for years, I wore one everyday and it would get bloody

Aprons look good on a woman....

If I was dating and had a blind date- id think it'd be quite impressive to see a woman with an apron- with a picture of bacon, porterhouse steak and a burger...

somehow thru the years,,,the aprons got a bad image kind of a suzie home-maker, domesticated nester image..

someone needs to to market them into victoria secret aprons??????

It never even occurred to me to wear an apron. My mom never wore one, neither did either of my grandmothers. And they made home made noodles, dumplings, pie crust, sauces, stews, soups, all kinds of messy things.

Where do you even buy aprons anyway? I never see them for sale?

If I splatter something on my clothes I change and throw them in the washer.

I think they look dowdy. I think my kids would fall down with laughter if they walked in the kitchen and I was wearing an apron.

If I was worried about slopping food on my clothes I would wear a rain poncho while cooking. Just hose it off and hang it in the shower.
