Also, there was a buffet place call King's Table that had good-tasting American food at the Del Amo Mall in Torrance. My parents took me there quite a lot when I was a child in the 80s. That place couldn't touch today's similar places such as Hometown Buffet, Golden Corral, etc.

I ate there too. The food was pretty good.

Yes, I ironically stumbled upon that exact link too as I looked up the place again.

I have been to many great and famous restaurants around the world and I live in ny so have a high standard. My very best meal was at
https://www.auberge-de-l-ill.com/en/restaurant.html
This place is famous in that it has a Michelin star since 1952 although it recently lost its 3rd star.. Many of the best chefs in the world have worked in this kitchen, the setting is stunning, the food suburb, wine list like no other. I love that there are many families and children eating in the dining room.
It should be on any serous foodies bucket list.
I hope to eat there again one day.

I’ve eaten at the original demonicos in nyc many times. I love the atmosphere and food is good but not exceptional, service is meh. Way better steak places if that is what you crave. I like eating at the bar there because it (was) a fun scene. And of course the building is iconic..

A small, quaint waterfront restaurant at John Wayne Marina, in Sequim WA. called the Dockside Grill. We have eaten at much more expensive places in Seattle, San Francisco and other major west coast cities, but this place has always been the best.

The best places I've eaten at are, sadly, gone now. Replaced by loud, sports bar/restaurants. The first was Michael's Restaurant on Los Feliz in Los Angeles. Their signature dish was a bacon wrapped filet, cheesy stuffed baked potato and the best basket of cheese bread ever. So good. My second favorite was an independent restaurant in Arcadia, Calif (near Pasadena), called the Royal Turtle (not the velvet turtle chain). They also did an amazing basket of cheese bread, and main courses of Orange Duck, and Lobster Thermador were off the charts delicious.
